I’ve been reading the Needle’ n Thread blog for a while. It is one of my favorite embroidery blogs. In this tutorial, Mary Corbet shares very detailed step-by-step instructions on embroidering a pumpkin.
French Beaded Pumpkin
This pumpkin is made using the Continuous Split Basic technique. If you need to learn this technique, check out this video.
Here are the materials needed for this beaded pumpkin project:
- 6 grams of seed beads ( I used various oranges and also made a teal pumpkin for food allergy awareness)
- 24 gauge copper-core wire (I used bare-copper and blue)

- Seed beads in orange (size 8/0) – for the pumpkin
- Seed beads in green (size 10/0) – for the pumpkin stem

Tiny Pumpkin Video Tutorial
For this tutorial, you will need 11/0 seed beads in orange and green. One color is the Miyuki Matted Opaque Pale Pumpkin, and the Picasso Opaque Chartreuse is the name for another color.
