This silver and chocolate dress caught my eye, and I immediately thought of pairing it with the Earth Goddess bracelet. However, the dress needed beaded details to unify it with the bracelet.
I tried about seven different ways to sew beads onto the thin fabric of the dress, but none of them seemed to work. My primary concern was practicality and convenience: I would wear it for several hours, sit in it and then dance in it.
The eighth way seemed to complement the dress and my need to stay comfortable during the party. The implementation took days. I am just saying this to warn those of you who might like to experiment with decorating a dress: start way before the party you would like to attend. And pick a backup dress, just in case.
Beads
I used Japanese seed beads and Czech bugle beads mostly.
Since the dress was meant for dancing also, I decided I didn’t want to make a heavy necklace matching the bracelet. I instead sew on lighter elements that will resemble a necklace. Here I added Czech bicones.
It was very, very tempting to add the bicones to the bottom of the dress, but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to sit in the dress without bicones leaving marks on my legs. So I ended up adding seed beads size 8 to the bottom part.
Bracelet
The bracelet color palette looks classic to me. It goes with so many colors of outfits, but chocolate and silver with a hint of copper look perfect for now.
What color jewelry would you pair with this dress? What kind of materials would you use?
