This flat even count peyote stitch video tutorial will help you understand the basics of the Peyote Stitch bead weaving technique. I demonstrate making two beaded samples using two different sizes of seed beads and compare them at the end.
Beads and Supplies
You will need:

Flat Even Count Peyote Stitch Video Tutorial
Instructions for sample one:
Attach the “stop” bead
String eight seed beads size 8 (use only this size of beads for this sample)
Pick up one more seed bead and stitch through the 7th bead
Pull the thread slightly and position the 9th bead right on top of the 8th one.
Pick up one bead, skip one bead, and stitch through the next.
Repeat two more times.
When you reach the end of the row, you will have the first three rows of your peyote sample.
Continue adding rows until you feel you practiced the stitch enough to understand and remember.
For each additional row, you will add four seed beads.
Remove the “stop” bead
Instructions for sample two:
Repeat the same process described in the instructions for sample one, but use cylinder beads size 11 instead of seed beads size 8.
You will notice the difference in the size of the finished beaded piece, and the structure formed by cylinder beads.
