When making a test piece for the Green Holiday Necklace, I suddenly noticed a new design idea for my green and pearl pendant.
The Czech glass mushroom beads did not fit the necklace design but looked very interesting when arranged into a smaller form for a different jewelry item – a pendant.
Beads
Sometimes Czech glass mushroom beads tend to fit the design idea perfectly or ruin it altogether. I chose them for this design, or, I would rather say, they suggested I make this pendant.
As in the Green Necklace, I used the same seed beads size 11 for the herringbone part.
Green and Pearl Peandnt Techniques
As I mentioned above, I used the herringbone stitch technique and the same pattern I followed for the Green Necklace. And for the base of the pendant, I decided to make a bead embroidered base with a focal point. I finished the base completely (including the backing and edging) before attaching the herringbone beadwork to the base.
Focal Point
The focal point of the green and pearl pendant is an oval acrylic pearl cabochon. I thought its shape was perfect for the herringbone beadwork I had already made.
I have a couple of these pearl cabochons left. Should I make another pendant like this? What color combination should I try?
