Watching sunsets in Hawaii is an amazing experience. The light and colors change fast, but for a person with a camera, it is not a problem. I like documenting colors. My Hawaiian sunsets photography is a wonderful source of inspiration for my future art and craft projects. (My first trip to Hawaii inspired me to create Kona Dreams)
I usually bring lots of sunset photos from every trip from Hawaii and other places. During my recent trip to Maui, I watched and photographed every sunset on the beach while I was there. Some photographs are taken with my Nikon 7100, others I took with my phone Samsung 8.
10 Amazing Hawaiian Sunset Photography Moments
Sunsets in Hawaii are special! They are different and more beautiful than in any other place I’ve been on this Earth. There is actually a scientific reason why Hawaiian sunsets are so beautiful. The volcanoes, the location of the islands, and the climate make them absolutely amazing!
Half an hour before sunset we didn’t see much of a difference compared to other sunsets we watched anywhere else.
It is after the sun sets, the real show begins!
The colors capture my attention, and I find it more fascinating than any show created by the most expensive light engineers.
If you plan any special photo session, you don’t have much time for experiments. The sun sits quite fast. I filmed the sun setting on my video camera several times. It usually takes less than 2 minutes for the sun disk to disappear in the ocean.
Sometimes, the sun hides behind the clouds. Then I observed the most dramatic sunset.
Lots of people, just like my husband and I, arrive on the beach 30-40 minutes before and enjoy the show with some food and drinks.
Some like to play in the waves.
Others like to spend sunset hours fishing.
No matter where I watched the sunset, I was totally captivated by this nature show from the first minute till the last.
I never get tired of this daily sun movement creating such colorful drama! Hawaiian sunsets could be my only reason to travel there.
