Anybody can draw a quick outline of a heart, but what if you need to draw a perfect heart shape for a craft or jewelry project? It has to be symmetrical, and it has to have accurate proportions. It is essential for jewelry items, I think. Check beaded heart collection or bead embroidered brooch – you can use this heart shape for such projects.
This tutorial will show you how to draw a perfect heart of any size you need for any project.
How to Draw a Perfect Heart
You will need:
- sketch paper
- ruler
- pencil
The first part of the video shows how to draw guide lines for the heart outline.
I started by marking the approximate size on a paper. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is going to be.
Then I created a vertical center line. When you don’t know the exact size, it is better to start measuring from the center.
Then I built a square, in which I was planning to mark more lines.
In the second part, you will see how to draw the heart shape of a specific size. This part of the tutorial is for everyone who has a particular size in mind, which needs to fit into other craft of jewelry projects. This process is similar to the one I demonstrated in the first part, with the only difference being that I show how to mark the guides reflecting the desired size of the shape.
Notes
Using the same method, you can draw guide-rectangles taller or wider, still keeping proportions and symmetry.
The key is to keep measuring from the center. So if you need a taller heart, you will draw vertical guidelines on a shorter distance from the vertical centerline than the horizontal guides. And vice versa.
