Small flower petal tutorial is for everyone who loves tiny beads!
A jeweler is usually associated with a person who has a good eye for little details and can work with tiny subjects and tools. So why not try your beading skills using see beads size 15?
In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a flower petal similar to the regular size Flower Petal. I will also show you how I attach it to the beaded center and make an earring. If you would like to make a pendant, check my Flower Pendant tutorial for ideas, tips and techniques.
Beads
To create a small flower petal, you will need two colors of beads size 15.
I used Miyuki Matte Red Orange AB. I will call it color A in this tutorial.
For the contour color, I used silver-tone metal raspberry pink. I will call it a color B here.
If you are interested in making the whole flower, you might need a 6 mm glass pearl for the center of the flower. I used Czech glass pears in pink.
Materials and Tools
You will need a beading thread. I used Fireline 4 lb – size 0.006 of a Crystal color. The thread is very visible in between the beads, which is good for the tutorial, but I suggest using thread that matches your beads.
The size of a beading needle is essential when compared with a beading thread. You will pass the same bead several times, and that means you might benefit from a thinner needle if you don’t want to bread a bead. I used a needle size 12, and, occasionally, it wasn’t easy to pass some beads.

For the flower center, I used a 6 mm glass pearl. I beaded around it also using a Peyote stitch technique. I didn’t make a detailed tutorial for this part of the earring because I already showed how to make it in my Beaded Flower Center Tutorial.
Attach the petals to beaded pearl and weave in the thread ends into the petals to hide the thread.

I chose to use a silver-plated chain for the earrings and stitched one side of it to the flower center. Then I attached the chain to the push-pin ear wire.
