This simple spider necklace bead embroidery is a result of a creative process that lasted just several hours. The process included thinking, selecting materials, and testing them. I needed a Halloween necklace, and I had no time to shop or scroll through the endless Pinterest for beadwork design ideas.
Spider Necklace Bead Embroidery
Since I don’t favor spooky accessories much, my spider came out sunny! Yes, let’s call it Sunny!
I grow flowers, and spiders in my garden are not enemies. I let them be. No wonder I couldn’t create a scary spider.

Bead Embroidery Colors
I love orange, but I find topaz sunnier! So I chose topaz for both glass crystals. Hematite and antique bronze are my favorite metallic bead finishes. The bicones have a copper tone, which corresponds to the wire color. Overall dark bronze and copper went well together. What do you think?

Beads and Components
The large crystal is from a famous company, and the smaller one I purchased a while ago in New York.
Seed beads size 8, 11, and 15 of silver-lined black, antique bronze, and antique copper created a contour for the spider.
3 mm bicones at the end of each spider leg suppose to reflect light better than seed beads would.

I will wear this spider to all Halloween parties this year. What are you planning to wear?
Happy beading!
