My friend picked up this magnesite bead at one of the Portland Gem Fairs and presented it to me as another project I had to accomplish for her.
The bead looked beautiful and I particularly liked that it was a square and looked like turquoise. Who doesn’t like turquoise?
Square focal point demanded square beads in design, I thought, and included tilas and square beads. Arranging square beads in lines seemed to be boring for me, so I decided to position tilas and squares just like tiles mixing just a couple of colors. Too many colors would ruin the tile character of this pendant.
This pendant is going to spend a couple of months in Europe and I am yet to find out how it was received by Europeans.
