I finished this necklace just before holidays started. It symbolizes cold and crisp winter days when sun is glowing through thin clouds just like milky pearl.
Work on this necklace started with a simple motif, designed by Mu, a beadwork blogger. I constructed my own connections between motives using glass beads. I tried different color schemes and decided to try silver superduo beads and pearl white seed beads combined with glass beads that ideally matched colors of delica I used in a pendant and added sparkles to this otherwise matte necklace.
Pendant Bead Embroidery
First version was created in one day with no breaks! However, the next day, when I tried to attached it to the necklace I realized that neither shape of the pendant nor the design corresponded to motives design.
Acrylic cabochon in pearl color became a focal point of the second version of the pendant which complemented motives geometry. Also, a gray pearl finish tear drop bead seemed to fit perfectly into the design of this handmade necklace reflecting the frosty silver tones of superduo beads in motives.
I wore this necklace for all after-Christmas events and New Year’s Eve. If you like this design follow links to pattern diagram and create your own version of this necklace! I’d be glad to publish pictures of your piece in my blog!
